I saw the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo today and I have to say, even though I watched the Swedish version with Noomi Rapace I have to say a few things: WOW, David Fincher is an awesome director!
Now I know there are still some people that don't like it, but it is(At least to me) the final product while the Swedish version is the prototype, Fincher was able to break out of the mold and make an awesome version. This could be the silver lining in the blackened cloud of Hollywood's stagnation. David Fincher, Guillermo Del Toro, Christopher Nolan, Joss Whedon and some others are still here to make movies we can love and call classics.
Okay enough of my opinion! here's what I liked about the movie:
Rooney Mara has blossomed into the actress that she knew she could be! Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara really had that chemistry going on as both Mikael and Lisbeth.
Stellan Skarsgard is always a good bad guy, we all know this, him playing Martin Vanger was a perfect casting choice!
the story, though recognizable because of the Swedish version, is still compelling and seems to fit much better.
The opening credit sequence amazed me! perfect use of Immigrant Song covered by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Karen O.
It's definitely one of these movies that deserves that STRONG R, especially the somewhat deserving torture scene.
Final Thoughts:
I loved Fincher's adaptation and I loved the original version, both are great. I don't mind reading subtitles either, but I do believe Rooney Mara was much closer to the character than Noomi Rapace, but that's because of the age difference and acting capabilities, they're both great actresses.

Batman V. Superman review
Long time since I posted, eventful new year! I'm back to my fighting weight of 220 pounds, my dad is practically healed up and I'm running 50 miles a week, now to the big news Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice aka the War against the Critics. Honestly some have good points like Chicago's own Dean Richards, but others seem quite slanted towards Marvel movies, Deadpool was amazing and hilarious btw! Now here's my review of Batman V. Superman:
I can officially say that I saw Batman V. Superman at the midnight screening and on Saturday when I took one of my nephews. In my opinion, it was pretty good on Thursday and awesome on Saturday, now my
Long Overdue Entry
Hello watchers of Deviant Art! I'm barely on this page, barely on Deviant art at all because of work. I've been doing some writing work as of late, Ghost Marshals is now in Phase 2 of the editing stage and should be done and ready for publishing for Createspace.com. I chopped the the first book- Which was originally gonna be 3 acts and about six hundred pages. First one is just titled Ghost Marshals and it's the first act of this epic story. Also the other writing work is for literary magazines. I will be writing short stories from some of my story ideas that I posted on here. Expanding them to 10,000 word- 17,500 word short stories for some
What a week (entertainment shit)
Well...it's almost the weekend, and it's been a shitty couple of days hasn't it? A national treasure has passed on, cops have turned a small town in Missouri into a warzone and everything is spiraling out of control. Robin Williams passed away on Monday, he had committed suicide. It's quite sad, I'm still not over it, I just watched What Dreams May Come and Hook and I'm still upset. He was a great guy, but don't say that to people that think his action was cowardice! The simple fact that he kept on doing what he did instead of biting the bullet earlier is courageous enough in my book goddamnit! And I'm at the point in my life where someone li

I will not be on this page anymore, I am moving to another Deviant Profile. I will also be taking down a bit of work. And putting it on that other Profile. Anything to do with Ghost Marshals, Land of Oblivion, Hellshadow, Xandrian and any other stories past or future will be on my other page. I've already added a few of you to that one so feel free to follow that one back. Again, I won't be on this one as much, maybe every now and then, but I will be on the SMartinez2990 page. I'm still a bit furious at the random, but I do love this site, no other site to be. And I've been working hard on Ghost Marshals as of late so that explains the past i
